Gatsby Night with my Favorites

February 13, 2016. A night before the what we call “Valentines Day”. It was a fun-filled night with the B1G Cebu annual Gala night “SAVE THE DATA” @ Mandarin Plaza hotel with the theme of “Gatsby”. Ingrid, Ate inn and I were having our last minute shopping for our outfit on that night. And because of the fact that we’re women, it takes few hours for us to prepare and fix our hair, make-up and all. The gate opens at 6PM but we arrived on the hotel 1 and a half hour late. Good thing that they’re still having their dinner.

After that sumptuous dinner, we had a game called “Passing the Presents”. What we’re gonna do is on our group, we’re given a presents wrapped five layers. We’re going to pass it to the next person next to us while the music is still on. When the music stops, anyone holding those presents will open the layer of the gift and read the consequence written on it. And the one who perform the consequence are the one holding it and the two person beside her/him. This is so much fun and kinda nervous. Ate inn and I were very lucky. We dance like a ballerina for 30 seconds. Nyahahaha. The luckiest person in the group who unwrapped the last layer will have to perform together with the other luckiest player on the group to the front – but well, they have the gift checks. 🙂

More than that fun-filled game. We had also speakers invited. First who speaks in front is a couple – kuya Carlo and Ate Grace. They share about their love story and how God moved into their life from courtship to their married life. Another speaker is Adrian Ding. He is a motivational coach, corporate trainer, business consultant and TV host. He is founder and Chief Empowering Officer of Maximum Impact Philippines, a training solutions company based in Cebu.
Here’s some of my take away on that wonderful night.
  1. Don’t go into a relationship when you don’t have an intention of getting married.
  2. Make the most of everything while you’re still single.
  3. Man – make the move. Women – be responsive. Don’t set too high standards.
  4. Honor your parents.
  5. Don’t plan to go to marriage if all you want is “receive”.
